Macro shot of a fly

Macro of a Fly.jpg

This was one of my first attempts at macro. Equipments used were canon EOS 400D, EF 50mm f1.8 , Kenko Extension tube set. 20mm and 36mm extension tubes were stacked in order to get this level of magnification. This is a true 1:1 macro as i have used more than 50mm of extension tubing. The extension tubes are a great way to get macros without investing in new optics, but the close focusing makes it very difficult to use.You kinda loose AF and focus on infinity. Also painful is the high iso and the thin DOF that you have to live with in order to get a picture. Live view is reported to help a lot in taking shots like these less stressful to the eye.
